Web-based ways to read Usenet
The original page listed the web gateways of its day — Deja News, early Google Groups and a crowd of smaller services, nearly all gone. What remains:
Google Groups absorbed the Deja News archive in 2001 and remains the largest searchable Usenet archive, though coverage thins in places and posting support has been repeatedly reduced.
The Internet Archive hosts preserved Usenet collections, including the UTZOO tapes of the earliest years — the closest thing the medium has to a museum wing.
For anything live, an NNTP account beats every web option; see accessing Usenet today.
