The national culture group for Thailand and the Thai diaspora: language and script questions, food, Buddhism as practised, and the domestic politics of a period that included the 1997 financial crisis and the constitution of the same year.

Like the rest of the soc.culture.* branch it was unmoderated, and its readership was distributed across Thailand, North America, Europe and Australia.
